About our practice

Riverside Surgery Tamworth is committed to providing high quality NHS medical care for individuals and families in a friendly and caring environment.

Our team includes a highly qualified and experienced GP and practice nurses supported by a team of experienced and friendly admin and reception staff.

As a GMS Practice, we offer a full range of general practice services. We provide individually focused and personalised care. We manage all the chronic diseases (Diabetes, Asthma and COPD, Hypertension and Heart disease) with the support from our local friendly consultants. We provide in-house minor surgery for various skin problems.

We promise to provide our services promptly, courteously and with strict confidentiality. This website provides information about our practice.

Booking Appointments and Ordering Repeat Prescriptions Online

The Practice is pleased to provide patients with access to its Clinical System via a Secure Web Interface.

You can book and cancel your appointments and request repeat medication on line. To do this you need to register with the practice and obtain a password to enable you to access this service. Once your registration account is created you will need to come into the surgery with your passport or driving licence so that your account can be activated you will be able to use the system to book and cancel appointments and request repeat medication as required. Please complete an application form available from reception.

    Guidance following lockdown restrictions lifting on 19th July

    Although lockdown restrictions are lifting across England on Monday 19th July to keep both the staff and our vulnerable patients safe social distancing and the wearing of masks inside the building will still be required after this date. Following a telephone/video triage consultation patients will be given a face to face appointment if clinically appropriate. We will continue to offer cervical smears and childhood immunisations, please continue to attend routine screening and vaccinations when you are invited.

    Proof of Covid vaccinations

    Can we please ask that you do not contact the surgery for a COVID vaccination certification. We are unable to issue this certificate at the practice. Please see Demonstrating your COVID-19 vaccination status when travelling abroad - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk) for further information. Proof of your vaccination status will be available on the NHS app, which is also valuable for accessing your health records and ordering repeat prescriptions. The NHS app can be downloaded from here ‎NHS App on the App Store (apple.com) for iPhone or here NHS App - Apps on Google Play for android. Alternatively, you can call the NHS helpline on 119 from 17th May and ask for a letter to be posted to you. This must be at least 5 days after you’ve completed your course of the vaccine; the letter may to take up to 5 days to reach you.”
